A dark day for the world

What a terrible day. Three planes deliberately flying into buildings in America, the World Trade Centre destroyed. Thousands of people undoubtedly dead. I really don’t know what to feel. I was on a course when we heard. The rest of the afternoon was pretty distracted and we left just after four. I arrived at Liverpool Street amid the thousands who had been evacuated from the city and sat, feeling exhausted, with my eyes closed all the way home.
The course was time management and organisation skills. For some reason, though, whether it was the fault of the training company or our HR department, we ended up in one building in east London while our facilitator was at our offices in the west end. The irony was not lost on us.
When I got home I sat in the garden for half an hour listening to the birds and watching the horses in the meadow while the Jess strolled around sniffing the flowers. I went around and watered the plants. I used the can instead of the hose. It was quite relaxing. I used the water collected in the butts from the gutters. It felt good to be self-sufficient.
The Internet is very slow this evening. Everyone logging on for the latest news, I suppose.
