A day of discoveries

Friday is such a good night for doing things. Everybody is somewhere else. Met Paul at the gym straight after work. It was pretty quiet when we arrived, but when we left at just after nine it was deserted. There was only us and two other people in the whole place - and it was built to cater for 10,000 members. Not all at the same time, obviously, but needless to say it’s pretty big. I went to Tesco to buy a fat free dinner (plaice to grill, and organic runner beans to boil) and then Paul came around and we watched a video of the first episode of the new Ab Fab. Tesco was similarly quiet, although Mrs Slow in front of me at the chequeout quibbled over her Clubcard vouchers and looked at me for a supportive smile, which she did not get. She punnished me by packing her bananas and grapes VEEERY slowly - I could have done it quicker one grape at a time.
I made two fantastic discoveries in Borders at lunchtime. The first was kind of a hang-over from yesterday when I had been looking up Louis Theroux on the Internet and come across The Idler. It’s a twice-yearly (is that bi-annual) magazine he writes for full of interesting interviews and funny bits and bobs. It’s not cheap -
