A good end to the week

A lot of good things happened today. While most of the office was busy packing crates ready to move desks this weekend I spent the day sitting at my desk, editing copy, safe in the knowledge that the desk I have today will still be my desk on Monday.
Lunch with the team at Soba, which is nowhere near as it used to be, and was cool enough to make me glad of my coat, but still fun.
An afternoon-long meeting of forward planning was less fun, but was made decidely easier by the promise of a pub trip when it was over, to meet up with pretty much everyone - Ursula, Mike, Scott, Nat, Chris, Claudia, and dozens of others. Even Jim, who I’ve not seen in months and turns out to be working on Fame Academy, which I had to own up of having watched only once, and even then for only 20 minutes.
Caught a late train home and bumped met Steve from behind the glass on the platform. Gave him a lift, then came home to have a set-to with my Linux. Two of my three remaining problems have been solved - my printer now works, and I have managed to get both my Linux and Windows machines online at the same time through my stubborn router, which to date has flat-out refused to talk to my cable. All I need do now is find the sound card’s voice and all will be sunny and bright.
Perhaps now the router is working I can finally get the Xbox online, too…
