Stayed over at Paul’s last night and only popped home to empty the washing machine, but ended up downloading my email and doing a quick bit of work, which was naughty because it made me late arriving at my mum’s for the rerun of Andrew’s birthday party (see 24th June). There was only four of us then, but today it was the expected eleven (12 if you count the unborn).
We were so lucky with the weather - it could easily have been another downpour like yesterday, but it was hot and bright enough for the guy next door to light a fire and smoke us all off the patio by mid-afternoon.
We all ate so much food and now I feel fat. I don’t look it, apparently. Dan (Sal’s bf) said I looked like I’d lost weight, and Paul said I had the stomach of a rake, which I’m sure can’t be a totally bad thing. He suggested laying off the running and doing some weights work instead, which is probably a good idea, but running is the easy option - you just plug yourself into your music and go, leaving your brains in your locker.
After yet more food, which was not needed, and eaten simply through greed, we went to the Army. Better than last week, perhaps on account of the fact it was just being a pub and not a music hall, but they still don’t have still water. You’d think in this age when extacy is (for some) pretty much the done thing they’d make sure they had plenty, but this is the second week in a row they haven’t. It’s been a fizzy day, so I didn’t fancy a Coke.
