Back in the cycle

I’ve been so busy the first couple of days back after the break I’ve not had time to write anything. Not unexpected, admittedly, with pages being signed off to be printed.
Getting out of bed early for the first time in ten days was not a comfortable experience. Neither was riding the train. Still, once I’d cleared the clutter and spam from my inbox I got loads done (as I have today) and I’ve commissioned half of my sections for the May issue already.
Worked late last night to let the gym quieten down. January = new years’ resolutions = no free treadmills. Didn’t realise it was running Sunday hours until the 6th, though, so arrived five minutes after turfing time and didn’t get in.
Did meet Steve’s Challenge and the Midnight Weatherman on the train, though, so had a very interesting gossip about the goings-on in the new studios and the build-up to the Monday morning LBC relaunch.
Now though, late Friday afternoon, I’m slowly slipping back into the working cycle, although the fact tomorrow is a Saturday feels very wrong. Nice, but very wrong. A chance to kick back after a hectic two days. Leo said it looked like I’d not slept in a week when I arrived yesterday morning. To be honest, it felt that way, too.
Am hoping to get out and take pictures of the flooded floodplain before it drains. It’s like driving through some exotic but rather cold marsh going to the station in the morning. The sun this morning was bouncing up off the mirror-flat water, blinding the drivers of the traffic on the long shallow bridge.
Very useful for this time of year, Twinings has devised a two-day detox plan.
