Birthday three

Slept on Sal’s futon last night, and was woken at 08h30 by Dan’s alarm and the noise being made by the upstairs neighbours. They have fooden floors and when theeir dog wags its tail it sounds like someone doing DIY. Oscar was sleeping on my bed and, seeing I was awake, climbed beneath the duvet for a cuddle.

Dan went to work, so I got up and walked down to the High Street to buy bits and bobs in Sainsbury, then back to Sal’s to make breakfast.

I watched Deep Blue Sea while Sal fell asleep on the settee. Not a bad film. As shark films go, it knocks Jaws out of the water. Some great effects (and a few dodgy ones, too), some good bits of dialogue (and a lot of cliche, too) but overall a lot of suspense, with you never really knowing who’s going to survive as far as the end of the film, and who’s going to be knocked off next.

We left for Chelmsford when Dan got home froom work, and immediately got ourselves stuck in traffic. It took an hour to do the ten or so miles to the Dartford Crossing.

By the time we got back I was starved, so tea’d and toasted, then headed out into town to retrieve my car from the multi-story.

Got distracted by the shops so mooched around for a while and in the end got home just half an hour before leaving to head back out to mum’s for dinner.

All in all, a tiring day, in spite of doing very little. We played Taboo after dinner, and I flopped into bed exhausted.

My team won both rounds. Then again, I did swap teams half way through.
