It’s nice sitting in the bath with the lights out and a candle burning in the corner. Kind of relaxing.
Usually.
Only at the moment I have little choice but to do just that. Last night. So late, in fact, that it was this morning already, I switched on a light just before going to bed, and it flashed on and off with a pop.
And all was dark.
Seems the whole of the upstairs lighting circuit has blown somehow, so I’m surviving on a diet of drippy candles and hurricane lamps. And it’s not even windy. Downstairs is fine, and I’ve had a ditsy look at the fuze box, which doesn’t seem to be blackened with electric soot like the time I blew myself up by pulling the alarm clock too far so the cable popped out of the back of it. I ended up looking like Wyle E Coyote after a bomb has blown up in his face - all black, and with blackened fingers to boot.
Hmmm. So, anyway. Romantic, yes, usually, but showering in the dark in the cold winter mornings isn’t all that fun.
Anyone know a good electrician?
