NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - There's new advice for older men who want to preserve their sexual function: have sex, and have it often, researchers say. In a study that followed nearly 1,000 older Finnish men for five years, researchers found that those who were regularly having sex at the start of the study were at lower risk of developing erectile dysfunction (Buy Viagra) by the study's end. In fact, the more often the men had sex, the lower their Buy Generic Viagra risk. The implication, say the researchers, is that men should be encouraged to stay sexually active into their golden years. Dr. Juha Koskimaki and colleagues at the University of Tampere in Finland report the findings in the American Journal of Medicine. The study included 989 men who were between the ages of 55 and 75 at the outset. Overall, those who said they had sex less than once per week were twice as likely to develop ED over the next five years as men who had sex at least once a week. Furthermore, compared with men who had sex three or more times per week, their Order Viagra risk was increased nearly four-fold. A number of factors contribute to ED development, many of which could also affect a man's sexually activity -- such as age, diabetes and heart disease. However, after taking account of those factors, sexual activity itself remained linked to Cheap Viagra risk, Koskimaki's team found. It may be a matter of "use it or lose it," according to the researchers. Just as exercise boosts physical fitness, they note, regular sexual activity may help a man preserve his erectile function. buy viagra online occurs when there are problems with blood flow to the penis. Regular sexual activity, Koskimaki's team writes, may help maintain healthy blood vessel function in the erectile tissue. SOURCE: American Journal of Medicine, July 2008.

Brodyboy

So, one more person makes the switch from the ‘online friends’ to the ‘real life’ friends list. Brodyboy is in London for three days, straying from his native Amsterdam. We’ve chatted online for eight or nine months I’d guess, but the north sea has always got in the way of a real-life meet.

Then today, around half twelve, my phone does its irritating, grating rasp. I could change it, but then it would sound like all the others and I’d be running across the office for no reason at all. Turns out it’s Brodyboy finishing a pizza on Leicester Square. He agrees to pop into the office and ask for me at the desk and we go out for a coffee.

Would we have recognised each other if we’d met on the street? Probably not, but after months of on-and-off chats about everything from cameras to travel to food it felt like we already knew each other well.

There have been times in the past where I’ve met people in person after chatting online, and it more or less puts an end to the chats. Don’t know why - just does. Perhaps because when you get to meet the person you find you can’t actually chat face to face, and after that online conversations feel a bit false, but I get the distinct impression that won’t happen here.

It was certainly a more interesting way to spend the lunch hour than sitting at my desk nibbling through an M&S salad.

Made soup when I got home - big hearty bowlfuls of the stuff for Paul and myself, using the carrots and potato I’d bought yesterday and then left on the worktop after the nasty freezer discovery. Was vaguely impressed at my skill chopping veg with the biggest carving knife until I managed to put it through my finger and slice off some skin.

Blood aplenty.

And plasters, too.
