About half nine this morning, the phone rang. The voice at the other end - a man - was vaguely familiar.

Me: Hello
Voice: Hello. How are you?
Me: Fine, thanks. You?
Voice: I’m OK, thanks. So what are you up to.
Me: Writing my feature.
Voice: About what? Cab Sav?
Me: No…

About this time I was starting to wonder who it was, and who would be talking about Cab Sav at half nine on a Sunday morning.

Voice: So what’s it about.
Me: You really want to know?
Voice: Well, if it’s not about wine, yes.
Me: OK, well it’s about _______
Voice: Oh, so nothing to do with wine, then.
Me: No. So, what are you doing?

I was sure that would explain who it was.

Voice: Oh, not much. I just called because Sue said you’d be in.
Me: Sue?
Voice: Yes.
Me: Sue who?
Voice: What?
Me: Sue who?
Voice: Oh, shit.

* click… brrrrrrrrrrrr *

So, I’m none the wiser. A most bizarre conversation about Cabernet Sauvignon. It certainly didn’t sound like the most likely culprit.
