A nice lunch with the people from Queen Mary college who wanted me to do their web site. We went to Lindys and they paid for it on expenses, which was a bonus. Sadly their deadlines meant I couldn’t do the site, though. The first bit had to be finished by the end of August, and the rest of it as soon as possible after that. Even if my deadline for the book wasn’t third week in August that would have been difficult to achieve. It was a shame, because I’d have liked to have done it, but it would have been a rushed job.
I rewound a film that had been in my camera since last year and took it to be developed and was singularly unimpressed with the results. I think going digital really spoils you where photography is concerned. Colours were a bit off, and the framing was poor, which was my fault, I know, but at least with digital you can delete it if you’re not happy. There was this picture of Paul that I quite liked, even though it’s blurred and overexposed. We were sitting in Costa in the Millennium Dome half way through the afternoon. It’s a shame so many people put the place down. We really enjoyed ourselves.
Another email from Virgin Mobile mid-afternoon. From the director of customer relationships this time, saying they’d changed the message on the info line that tells you to hang on when it’s closed and thanking me for bringing my “problems” to their attention. It was nicely worded, and enough to convince me to stay with the service.
Mixed weather. Spitting at lunchtime, but warm enough to get away with leaving coats at home.
