This morning’s breakfast show piece went very well. It was quite short, as they have been recently, but was chatty and fun, and we laughed a bit, which I always like as it makes the whole idea of computers far less scary to the uninitiated, hopefully drumming up more interest in this evening’s programme.
A slow train into the office gave me plenty of time for learning German before arriving at the office to sift through this morning’s batch of spam. I was wondering how I have managed to get myself on so many mailing lists, when my question was answered:

I spent lunchtime looking for flights from Reykjavik to Hofn, and I came across one of Iceland’s domestic carriers, Islandsflug. Its web site includes the page cockpit_reminder.html showing a picture of a sign they keep in their cockpits for the benefit of the pilots: “No acrobatic maneuvers, including spins, approved.” Looking at the pilots, though, I’m surprised they can understand what it means… being as most of them look about 6 years old.
