Three hour show tonight (7pm - 10pm) to mark the election, which reminded me to perform my civic duty before leaving for work. Wandered over to the community centre in the village square (first time I’ve seen it from the inside) and put a pencil cross in a box. It struck me that there is actually nothing anonymous about elections. They write your voter number on a stub that has a code on it matching the ballot paper. It would take a bit of effort but they could certainly back-engineer it so they can see what you put.
It was tempting to vote for 31-year old ‘Herb’ of the pro-cannabis party, but in the end plumped for the party most likely to knock out the sitting Tory (or most likely to get close to doing it - I have little doubt he will be returned).
Left feeling all smug in the sun but embarassed myself at the station by demanding the ticket inspector explain why my season ticket wouldn’t let me through the gate. As he pointed out, it expired yesterday. That left me with a difficult decision to make. Renew for another full year (
