End of the year

So. The last day of 2001, and I’m doing the same with life as I was at the end of 2000. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. I’m happy with life at the moment, where I live, what job(s) I do. How do you know if you’re stuck in a rut, though?
It’s been a lot of fun. I’ve been to Korea for the first time and got ill with the food. Travelled right around France by train and was hardly delayed at all. Album of the year? Hmmm… Kylie, Fever, probably. And film? Lord of the Rings - without question. Best book: ‘Them, Adventures with Extremists’ by Jon Ronson. There was really only one news story.
I wonder what next year will bring.
Was up and about at a decent time after two alarms and the timer on the light flicking it on and off a few times, then set out for the gym. I got as far as the next road to home before breaking down. The car refused to move for the next two hours, after which it mysteriously started again and drove on as though nothing had happened.
It meant I missed the gym and lunch with mum, Andrew and their friend Viv, which was a shame, but I went around later in the afternoon for tea, Christmas cake and an hour spent fixing the TV card in her PC. It worked in the end, but not without a lot of tweaking.
Out to the Army this evening to see in the New Year. What a terrible night. We got there at half nine - half an hour earlier than we’d intended - and it was practically empty. There was a
