From today’s Sydney Morning Herald:
Plastic bags designed for committing suicide but covered with warnings that misuse will cause death are to be manufactured in Brisbane and given away free of charge.
The Australian-designed suicide or “exit bag” will feature an elasticised opening to provide an airtight seal around a person’s neck and is expected to be unveiled at a news conference on August 20…

A sane human, like his animal counterparts, knows when it’s time to go. For those with no alternative, an exit bag is a wonderful idea and I intend to use such a device when my life is no longer tolerable - when the pain outweighs the gain. No one lives forever, and to exist in violent pain for ten years, causing problems for all around you, simply to die then, is an insanity to which I have no intention of succumbing.
I realise that those who believe in fairies, gods, devils and other supernatural hob-goblins, see things differently, but these ideas are specific to the specific insanity of the believer and are neither universal nor sane.

The only thing that should impact our decision to do so is, as you rightly point out, the impact on those around us. If we care little for ourselves (or care too greatly), our decisions should nevertheless be tempered by how they will affect our loved ones (or at least those in our immediate circles), either positively or negatively. It is not right to kill oneself if it means the suffering and pain of others - even if this means that you will continue to suffer, for years on end.

Yes, but where the hell do you get information about this exit bag? It seems that there is a conspiracy to ensure that we will all continue to be treated as immature idiots who cannot be trusted with decisions about our own lives.

I once bought the original one from the late RTDSC in mid/end 90’s as an asphyx toy.
Seems I have got a collectors’ item.
Momentarily inaccessible, must wait for heritance case.
Don’t know where the Aussies will publish it on the web, any knowledge?
Bag is too large for asphyx games, may result in accidents, use with care!
This may look OT, but sanity in the asphyx scene recommends monitoring the suicide schene, too!
Note fatal results are disliked in asphyx games whereas the suicide setup is interested in assured fatality. This is the boundary where we meet.

I once bought the Canadian Exit Bag as an asphyx toy.
Contact to the suicide scene came via security researches, the asphyx scene is interested in avoiding fatalities.
I seem to have now a collectors’ item.
As a standpoint from the asphyx side, it is too large, the desired effect may build up too slowly so unconsciousness may result. This might be tolerable with a partner, solo players are always at their own risk, whatever aspyx device they use!
