Fluffy dice

There I was thinking fluffy dice went out with the eighties, but apparently they’re back, big time.
My weather-luck finally ran out this morning and I was trapped at home with rain beating on the window. Wiperless on one side of the car I can’t drive it in the rain and I’ve been home late every night since it was snapped off - too late for Halfords to be open. So, I settled down with two mugs of steaming tea and two slices of marmalade on toast while the digital radio chatted happily to itself and I read next month’s pcwexpert.
Rob called from LBC half way through the fifth page, when the washing I’d put in was on its final cycle, to see if I could do an interview on iris scanning just after twelve. I said I could, so in the end the rain was actually quite fortuitous as it meant I could do it on the ISDN rather than the phone and it would have sounded better.
The rain stopped just before I went on, so I left right after and finished the pcwexpert on the train. It was very well written, so I didn’t have many proofing marks, and when I got to the office I hardly needed to do any work on it before dropping it on the server.
The rest of the day flew by. It almost feels like I’ve had a half day, which isn’t a bad thing. There was an antipodean birthday do going on at Revolution after six, but although tempted I didn’t dare go along. The rain was holding off, but the sky still threatening, so I thought it best to get back to the car in case it started again while I was drinking.
I dashed back to Chelmsford and got to Halfords just as they were locking the door, so I’m still wiperless. I consoled myself with a two-hour survey of Sainsbury’s, looking for fish sauce in a jar but they only seem to have powder in packets.
I bought canned tuna instead and took it home to do a pasta bake, which sat in the pan until Paul left the office and came around to eat. He’s off on holiday on Monday to join Trevor and Jon in Gran Canaria, so it’s perhaps not surprising he’s pulling late nights at the moment.
