In bed with the biro

Spent the whole morning in bed. Slept eleven hours of it, and spent the other hour going through the Radio Times with a biro marking up all the Christmas films. I’ve seen all but one or two of the good ones already, but it’s better than most years. I showered after getting to the end of the new year and then finally went back to the kitchen to tackle last night’s washing up. It took the best part of half an hour and smelt of chilli beans.
Went round to mum’s at three to pick up a frame for dad and a copy of my P60 so I can get my pension bits sorted out. My accountant has all of my important paperwork at the moment so I’m bereft of records.
She and Andrew were having lunch, so I joined them, and we flopped around watching TV for a bit until a programme about spiders shedding their skins came on and Mum and I retreated to the study so I could show her the Docklands pictures I took after the Epson party, and have a look at formatting a document she was writing.
Of course, I got all involved in that and completely forgot why I’d gone there. I was half way back to Chelmsford when my phone rang and mum reminded me that I’d not only forgotten the pay slip, but also the mortgage documents she’d dug out for me and the box that had arrived from Amazon mid-week.
I went back and collected them, then raced back to listen to the Arcadia CD I knew was in the Amazon box. This had been given excellent reviews on the site, and I’ve always liked Election Day, so I was a bit disappointed when I listened to it. It’s very dated. Copyright 1985, it says on the back. It sounds like it, too.
Shame.
Cheered up with a trip to the gym. I’ve been very remiss about it lately. So has Paul, and we were trying to work out in the changing room when we’d each last been. We put it down to Wednesday the week before last - 11 days! This will have to change before the chocolates and puddings of Christmas come along.
