I really couldn’t make it to the gym this morning. I tried - really I did - but it just didn’t happen. I don’t know how long I’d been awake before I really woke up but I think it was a loooong time. I finished my Prague notes on the train, and got to work to find a classic email in my in-box.

“I’d appreciate any feedback that was forthcoming on the product’s reviewing status. If the tickets for the [item removed] might tip the balance then please feel free to call or e-mail me on the details below.” Bribery at its most blatant.

Most of the morning, and some of the afternoon, was spent cheering up PR people who were suddenly all complaining about the warranty requirements of this month’s group test invite. It’s the same as every month but you’d think it was the first time they’d read it. Everyone was complaining that on-site was not do-able. Several calming emails later that seemed to understand what we were actually asking for and realised it was something they did anyway.

We lunched on Crazy Salads again, most of the team sitting in Soho Square. Since the Bagelmania spoon incident my eating habits had become decidedly less healthy. Crazy Salads (where you can get a lot of cheesy stuff that couldn’t be much further removed from salad if it tried) is hardly gym friendly. On the way back we bought ice creams. I had a Cornetto Whippy - I’m a sucker for advertising - and was very disappointed. It was hardly any softer than a bog standard Cornetto and the chocolate stick was like an Aero, nit a Flake.

I worked late (I know, I know - it’s Friday, but I’m out of the office on a course for two days next week) and there was a funny smell of buring round about 7 o’clock. Climbed around my desk sniffing the back of my PC and monitor but it wasn’t from there. The cleaners went and got a security guard who sniffed at the cupboards and looked through the windows but I don’t think his nose was any better than ours. It had died down by quarter past so I’m guessing it wasn’t too serious.
