It’s so late. Elaine called at 10.20 and now it’s gone midnight. We’ve just finished talking. That’s what comes of not being in touch from New Year to late October - too much to catch up on. As soon as she called, the TV seemed to go into shouty mode and as it was in the lounge and I was in the study it was probably shouting James Bond through the walls at all the neighbours for over an hour and a half. I bet they loved that. There’s no way I’ll be getting up on time in the morning.

We retrieved out photo-shoot fruit from the fridge this morning. The pictures came out OK so it could be eaten, but although we’d only bought it on Friday and it had all been kept cool a lot of it had gone off. The raspberries, admittedly hairy to start with, had a thick coat of green fluff on them and the melon had developed a large hole in one side and was weeping black gunk from one end. Rather nasty. The bananas had gone a dark, even brown colour all over as though they were five days past their best. Most strange. I guess the fridge isn’t working properly.

Must sleep.
