NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - There's new advice for older men who want to preserve their sexual function: have sex, and have it often, researchers say. In a study that followed nearly 1,000 older Finnish men for five years, researchers found that those who were regularly having sex at the start of the study were at lower risk of developing erectile dysfunction (Buy Viagra) by the study's end. In fact, the more often the men had sex, the lower their Buy Generic Viagra risk. The implication, say the researchers, is that men should be encouraged to stay sexually active into their golden years. Dr. Juha Koskimaki and colleagues at the University of Tampere in Finland report the findings in the American Journal of Medicine. The study included 989 men who were between the ages of 55 and 75 at the outset. Overall, those who said they had sex less than once per week were twice as likely to develop ED over the next five years as men who had sex at least once a week. Furthermore, compared with men who had sex three or more times per week, their Order Viagra risk was increased nearly four-fold. A number of factors contribute to ED development, many of which could also affect a man's sexually activity -- such as age, diabetes and heart disease. However, after taking account of those factors, sexual activity itself remained linked to Cheap Viagra risk, Koskimaki's team found. It may be a matter of "use it or lose it," according to the researchers. Just as exercise boosts physical fitness, they note, regular sexual activity may help a man preserve his erectile function. buy viagra online occurs when there are problems with blood flow to the penis. Regular sexual activity, Koskimaki's team writes, may help maintain healthy blood vessel function in the erectile tissue. SOURCE: American Journal of Medicine, July 2008.

It’s Wednesday

So, a late night last night, a groggy wake-up this morning and a car still two miles away in the multi-storey by the station where it was locked in last night conspired to make me late. It made the tubes far more pleasant, though, and I wasn’t the last of last night’s attendees to turn up. And I wasn’t the worst of the worse for wear, so it wasn’t as bad as it could have been.

First mail in my inbox was a warning that I’m getting too many visitors. Seems my site has shifted 5GB of data out to happy punters in the last couple of months and it’s starting to cause concern. Topped up the accound, then tackled deleting my spam and extracting copy that needed editing from what remained of the messages.

I was barely in the office at all. Edited the copy, then out to ITN to record a short interview with the head of Microsoft’s home products department, who was only in the UK today and so couldn’t make it into the studio for a live appearance on tomorrow evening’s show.

She got held up with her PR and arrived 40 minutes late, which gave me loads of time to sip tea and sit in Control Room 1, chatting to Steve’s Challenge while he drove Steve Allen’s show. An unbelievable number of calls coming through. I think, as a presenter, it’s easy to miss what goes on behind the scenes when you’re on air. Normally you have only a few names and locations up on the screen next to the line numbers, completely oblivious to the fact that there’s a switchboard operator frantically scrawling down two dozen other incoming numbers. The presenter may be the voice, but it’s certainly the behind-the-scenes people who do the hard work.

From there, a dash along Grays Inn Road to a very dull product meeting down by Chancery Lane. Too many people asking too many irrelevant questions. Some very greasy hair on view.

It was dark by the time I got back to the office - fortunately in time for the afternoon tea run.

Gym with Kevin this evening - it’s Wednesday, after all. Really wasn’t in the mood for it after last night’s late night. Very tired. Had to push myself and ended up back out on the street within an hour and a half. Need an early night - tomorrow morning’s breakfast show insert has been pulled forward from 7.50 to 6.50.

Yawn.
