NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - There's new advice for older men who want to preserve their sexual function: have sex, and have it often, researchers say. In a study that followed nearly 1,000 older Finnish men for five years, researchers found that those who were regularly having sex at the start of the study were at lower risk of developing erectile dysfunction (Buy Viagra) by the study's end. In fact, the more often the men had sex, the lower their Buy Generic Viagra risk. The implication, say the researchers, is that men should be encouraged to stay sexually active into their golden years. Dr. Juha Koskimaki and colleagues at the University of Tampere in Finland report the findings in the American Journal of Medicine. The study included 989 men who were between the ages of 55 and 75 at the outset. Overall, those who said they had sex less than once per week were twice as likely to develop ED over the next five years as men who had sex at least once a week. Furthermore, compared with men who had sex three or more times per week, their Order Viagra risk was increased nearly four-fold. A number of factors contribute to ED development, many of which could also affect a man's sexually activity -- such as age, diabetes and heart disease. However, after taking account of those factors, sexual activity itself remained linked to Cheap Viagra risk, Koskimaki's team found. It may be a matter of "use it or lose it," according to the researchers. Just as exercise boosts physical fitness, they note, regular sexual activity may help a man preserve his erectile function. buy viagra online occurs when there are problems with blood flow to the penis. Regular sexual activity, Koskimaki's team writes, may help maintain healthy blood vessel function in the erectile tissue. SOURCE: American Journal of Medicine, July 2008.

Journeys

You forget a lot of things when you take a break from work. You forget that you didn’t have to go back to the office until Wednesday, not Tuesday. You forget that every time you go away something bad happens to your computer and you have to spend the first morning back rebuilding it. You forget how unpleasant it is to commute into London.

The last two days have been perfect examples of supreme efforts to get in early thwarted by a third-world transport system. Packed tubes that you just have to let pass you by because there’s no chance of fighting your way on. Passengers shouting at each other to hurry up and move simply because they are so frustrated. A woman being deliberately pushed off a train and onto a platform by the man standing behind her. Walking in the rain because the escalators down to the dangerously overcrowded platforms have been roped off for safety.

And then last night, an angry red stripe of ‘delayed’ and ‘cancelled’ signs on the indicator boards for the overground trains back to Chelmsford. Sitting on one train so long it transmuted into a later service, the one we’d got on effectively being cancelled on the spot so it wouldn’t count as running late… it truly is a national disgrace.

So, it leaves me with two options. Either, travel even earlier, and get into the office at eight. Or, travel much later, and get in at ten. Neither is particularly appealing, although as the day officially begins at ten I guess the latter is more sensible.

The eight o’clock option, though, might be just what I need, giving me no reason not to get in two hours before everyone else and work on the book.

Hmmm…

But travel is only two or three hours a day, and plenty good has happened betweentime. Got to see my friends again. Worked hard together with Gordon to gather together a nice guest list for tomorrow night’s show. Had a long long session at the gym this evening with Kevin - planned on staying just over an hour, but in the end was still there, still running, two hours later.

Take it from me, early mornings are best Nik. I don’t always practise what I preach however, I suggest you get up at 6, arrive at the gym at 6.30 when its empty then set off to work before 8. That way you can come home early and the rest of the day is relaxed as you have already done the gym work. Leave your radio on all night by your bed so the mornings are not such a shock, you just wake to voices. It all works for me mate.
