I have been very productive today. I woke up just before the alarm went off, and was out food shopping before nine. Spent the morning working on book-type things, and broke to edit a group test at lunchtime, which was due on the server today.
I’m getting very proficient with Linux. Well, with KDE anyway - give me a command line and I’d still be rather confused. I’ve upgraded StarOffice 5.2 to the beta of version 6, though, and everything computer-related I’ve done today has been under Linux rather than Windows. I wonder if I can get my camera and scanner working…
The one thing I can’t do is connect it to the cable modem through my router, but then I couldn’t do that with the Windows machine, either. I think it’s something to do with the MAC address and Telewest not liking it. It’s set in the self-care bit of their web site, so it’s in their database, but the activity light on the router just keeps on doing its regular flashing, which I assume means it’s ignoring the outside world.
Broke mid-afternoon to go to the gym and before I knew it I’d been there an hour and a half.
