Somehow I got to bed well after midnight last night. I don’t know where the time went. Sorting out those bills, I think, so I woke up only briefly when the alarm went off this morning, then went straight back to sleep. The next thing I knew Maisie was banging on the door, wanting to get in and clean the house. Of course, it was inevitable that I was late for work. I wasn’t the last to arrive, of course. I never am.

It was a fairly humdrum day apart from that. Lots of reading and correcting, a bit of writing - the intro for the pcwexpert spin-off that was announced at the awards ceremony on Wednesday. Had a couple of nice emails from last night’s guests thanking me for asking them on the show and offering to come back if they were needed, and even PC Pro ringing up to ask if they can arrange a regular six-weekly news spot, which is quite a result. I sent an email round to all the other magazines suggesting they do something similar but haven’t had a response yet.

Getting home took ages. My tube train sat around for ages at Holborn for no particular reason and then the overground train did much the same just outside Harold Wood. I had been planning to go to the gym with Paul but then remembered I ought to stock up the fridge for mum coming home tomorrow so diverted by Sainsbury’s, by which time it was too late. He came around after Ab Fab and we watched on video and supped on tea.
