NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - There's new advice for older men who want to preserve their sexual function: have sex, and have it often, researchers say. In a study that followed nearly 1,000 older Finnish men for five years, researchers found that those who were regularly having sex at the start of the study were at lower risk of developing erectile dysfunction (Buy Viagra) by the study's end. In fact, the more often the men had sex, the lower their Buy Generic Viagra risk. The implication, say the researchers, is that men should be encouraged to stay sexually active into their golden years. Dr. Juha Koskimaki and colleagues at the University of Tampere in Finland report the findings in the American Journal of Medicine. The study included 989 men who were between the ages of 55 and 75 at the outset. Overall, those who said they had sex less than once per week were twice as likely to develop ED over the next five years as men who had sex at least once a week. Furthermore, compared with men who had sex three or more times per week, their Order Viagra risk was increased nearly four-fold. A number of factors contribute to ED development, many of which could also affect a man's sexually activity -- such as age, diabetes and heart disease. However, after taking account of those factors, sexual activity itself remained linked to Cheap Viagra risk, Koskimaki's team found. It may be a matter of "use it or lose it," according to the researchers. Just as exercise boosts physical fitness, they note, regular sexual activity may help a man preserve his erectile function. buy viagra online occurs when there are problems with blood flow to the penis. Regular sexual activity, Koskimaki's team writes, may help maintain healthy blood vessel function in the erectile tissue. SOURCE: American Journal of Medicine, July 2008.

Lots of Lab

All the guests for the show are booked and confirmed. It’s been a dead easy week, radio-wise - just like having your own PR company working for you. I sent them a little note of thanks and said we have so many people who want to come on that we’ll have to look at slotting them into a future show. There’s a bit of faffing about timings, but I think we’ll get everyone sorted out by tomorrow.

Roger Gann emailed over the pictures he took during last week’s show. There are some truly scary ones of me, but at least they are better than the one on the Lab site, which was taken from a webcam.

Organic Wooden SpoonLunched at the organic soup shop with the wooden spoons, and got back to the office to find a very nice Marks and Spencer reply to my email about the orange and chocolate yoghurts. It seems they’re not too keen on them either…

My mail: “I was very excited by the prospect of a chocolate and orange yoghurt. However, I do feel rather sick now. Would it be possible to integrate the chocolate and orange a little better in future revisions of this product line? It does taste rather like someone has taken a perfectly good chocolate desert and squeezed an orange into it. The fruit drinks, though - very much appreciated.”

Reply: “Thanks for your e-mail and kind comments. I to [sic] liked the idea of an orange/chocolate yoghurt and didn’t really like the result so I have passed on both your comments and mine to the relevant buyers who will in turn relay them to our supplier. I’m glad you like the fruit drinks. Once again, thank you for contacting us.”

Stopped in at the gym on the way home, having failed to wake up in time again this morning. I bumped into Trevor as he was coming out of his Spinning class, Nigel was in the gym, Paul was in the pool and Neil was in the changing rooms. So many people I know. It’s becoming very sociable in there.

I sacrificed the SuSE installation on my Linux PC in favour of Windows 2000 over dinner, trying to get my scanner and camera working again but it didn’t go without a fight. I’d told it to boot from the CD ROM so that it wouldn’t hit the hard drive, but every time I rebooted that penguin kept on popping up. In the end I had to disable everything except the CD ROM and even then it refused to recognise either Windows Me or Windows 98. Now all I have to do is try and remember which graphics card drivers I need and I’ll have an almost fully-working PC.
