This morning’s delay was undefined. The driver, sounding rather annoyed, announced that he had been given no information. This evening we sat outside Gidea Park for fifteen minutes. The driver said it was because of a speed restriction on the track, but by the time we got to Chelmsford this had become a defect on the train in front of us. I wish they would make up their mind.
I met PC Advisor Will for lunch. What nice offices they have. Very airy and tidy, and with a swipe card in-out system to make sure they don’t work too many hours.
We went to a little chain cafe that Will assured me was ‘good for vegetarians’ and sat downstairs where the words ‘opium den’ span around and around my head. Very cosy. We agreed that we both have far too many domains and that there is a killer web idea out there waiting to be had, but that neither of us had a clue where or what it was, which I guess puts us out of the running.
I got back to the office to find a big padded envelope with another set of proofs of my book and an amended copy of the contract. The proofs needed 24 new screen shots doing ‘by tomorrow’. I’m doing them now, rather grudgingly, although I think it should really be up to the art team being as how they are only needed because of a late change made by someone else (and in no way forewarned) that was pretty much key to the whole thing (changing the name of the main characters).
Ho-hum.
I’ve installed Office XP in the hope it would fix my email problem (none coming in or going out). Somehow in doing so it managed to lose Outlook, but once I’d shown it where it was it was happier. It all looks very nice - floaty slidy menus and lots of pretty colours.
I can be so shallow sometimes.
