Every now and then I get invited to pre-release screenings of new films. It’s all very nice, but I’ve never really paid all that much attention to the small print on the invites before. I guess it’s all quite logical what it says - they don’t want the film’s secrets leaking out before it’s released, after all. It does all sound rather harsh, though…
This screening will be monitored for unauthorised recording. By attenting, you agree not to bring any recording device into the cinema and you consent to physical search of your belongings and person for recording devices. If you attempt to enter with a recording device you will be denied admission. If you attempt to use a recording device, you consent to your immediate removal from the theatre and forfeiture of the device. Unauthorised recording will be reported to law enforcement and may subject you to criminal and civil liability.
Erk!
