Of course it didn’t happen, did it - I didn’t make it to the gym like I’d planned. It wasn’t entirely my fault, though, because the alarm didn’t go off, so I feel at least partly vindicated. I went after work to make up for it, which is far more civilised. It wakes you up after work, and even though you don’t get home until later the evening feels much longer. Picked up one of the complimentary copies of The Guardian at the door but then remembered it’s Tuesday, so I’ve missed the Media Monday jobs for this week.

A very busy day in the office, patching up the last few bits of the group test and signing off proofs. Had a very interesting cup of tea with Rob at lunchtime, with follow-up potential.

I’m starting to wonder what I’m going to say at this awards ceremony on the 12th September. Apparently we have an AV team so I guess there will be slides and music, but it would be helpful to know what they are before I start writing. I think what I’ll end up doing is paraphrasing the awards feature from the magazine and throw in a few jokes. How you can make jokes about technology, though, I don’t know.

No show guests confirmed for this week yet. It’s been a strange one - Berlin on Friday so I couldn’t book anyone then, then the long weekend, which knocked out another working day, and today spent catching up with work. I’ve got some feelers out, so we’ll see what happens…
