NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - There's new advice for older men who want to preserve their sexual function: have sex, and have it often, researchers say. In a study that followed nearly 1,000 older Finnish men for five years, researchers found that those who were regularly having sex at the start of the study were at lower risk of developing erectile dysfunction (Buy Viagra) by the study's end. In fact, the more often the men had sex, the lower their Buy Generic Viagra risk. The implication, say the researchers, is that men should be encouraged to stay sexually active into their golden years. Dr. Juha Koskimaki and colleagues at the University of Tampere in Finland report the findings in the American Journal of Medicine. The study included 989 men who were between the ages of 55 and 75 at the outset. Overall, those who said they had sex less than once per week were twice as likely to develop ED over the next five years as men who had sex at least once a week. Furthermore, compared with men who had sex three or more times per week, their Order Viagra risk was increased nearly four-fold. A number of factors contribute to ED development, many of which could also affect a man's sexually activity -- such as age, diabetes and heart disease. However, after taking account of those factors, sexual activity itself remained linked to Cheap Viagra risk, Koskimaki's team found. It may be a matter of "use it or lose it," according to the researchers. Just as exercise boosts physical fitness, they note, regular sexual activity may help a man preserve his erectile function. buy viagra online occurs when there are problems with blood flow to the penis. Regular sexual activity, Koskimaki's team writes, may help maintain healthy blood vessel function in the erectile tissue. SOURCE: American Journal of Medicine, July 2008.

Panic and hic-ups

Still wide awake at two this morning having mild panics. I think I overdosed on vitamin C. I took five tablets at 1,666 per cent of the recommended daily allowance (83 times the recommended daily allowance) on the basis that you pass out whatever you don’t need and I don’t want my sore throat to turn into a cold for Prague. In the end I lay on the settee and hid under the duvet. By half two I was convinced I was heading for kidney failure.

Of course, that meant I didn’t make it to the gym in the morning and was late for work, so decided to go to the yoga class this evening instead. As it turned out, it was full, and I ended up running 3km listening to the tracks I’d ripped yesterday in the hope I might sweat out the impending cold. The vicious showers attacked me. They have sensors that switch then on when you get near that never seem to work when you want them to, but I ended up leaving my shower gel on the soap rack and went back to retreive it wearing my towel. The shower saw me and switched on, drenching me and the towel.

Tempted another anxious night with a Berocca when I got home, and rifled through the freezer for some dinner. I settled on Quorn burgers when I found FOUR packs of the things. They are always on offer at Asda. I don’t think there are many vegetarians in Chelmer Village. Spent the next half hour with hic-ups - par for the course with those things.

I received a very strange last-minute invite in my email this afternoon: ‘Tonight, Essex artist Lyn Sudbury debuts her collection of Drag Queen and Vegan paintings in London’s “First Out”… Well known on the London Drag scene, partially disabled Lyn (40) has dedicated the exhibition to her close friend Danny La Rue.’ Not me at all, especially not with a couple of hours’ notice. I wonder who was the last-minute drop out.

Was rather proud of myself earlier for connecting to AOL using my mobile and Palm m105, so at least I’ll be able to email from Prague, even if I’ll be cut off from the Web.
