I was supposed to spend the day on a boat on the Thames celebrating the tenth anniversary of Painshop Pro, but the weather was grey. I also had a big pile of work that needed doing, and simple maths dictated that the two added together made a day best spent in the office. As it turned out, it would probably have been OK, because by mid-afternoon is was muggy and thundery, but still freezing in the office.

Got a lot of papers shifted, though, commissioned a new writer onto the team, which is always a nice thing to do, and then finished the second edit of the book on the train home.

Publisher Joyce has emailed late morning to ask how the copy was coming along, so I told her it was written and in the snipping stage and asked how much I should invoice for the screen shots. She said not to invoice - just follow the terms of the contract (still as yet unsigned by me). In other words she wants them for free, which is a bit stingy being as how there’s going to be over a hundred and they’re not having to pay for an illustrator.

I’ll have to clarify things tomorrow.

Sainsbury’s this evening to stock up on healthy things. Autumn is on the way…
