I made a good stab at the Dorling Kindersley book during lunch. Some of the facts I need to get are turning out ot be a bit elusive, but I reckon that what I got done today, and what I’ve already got worked out puts me about a third of the way through, so I’ve emailed the publisher to let her know how I’m getting on and warn her that I’ll send through what I’ve done so far tomorrow so she can look it over and check I’m not going horribly wrong.

It’s going to be a very long day tomorrow. I’ll have to be up at half five so I can be on the train at half six and (fingers crossed) in London at 7.09. Tube it from there to ITN, hopefully by half seven so I can get a cup of tea before doing my bit for the breakfast show. That’ll take me up to 8, when I can get some breakfast in time to be at the Windows XP launch by 9 at the latest. The PR people are already warning it’s going to be full and late-comers will be watching through a video link in the foyer.

Back to the office by two, out again at half four for LBC again, the show at seven and home, hopefully, just after ten, probably straight to bed.

How I’m going to get up tomorrow morning, though, I really don’t know. I’m setting nine alarms.
