The efficiency bug has bitten hard. I edited proofs, sipping tea within minutes of waking up. That wasn’t early after last night’s late night, of course, but it still made me feel rightly righteous. Got up and mooched into town in search of food but ended up having coffee, then buying bleach and cloths and generally useful household items.
I decided it was time to finally retire my kitchen bin which, after five years of faithful service, was looking a little ragged. It still has a sharp edge where dad somehow snapped off a bit of the top when he was staying here a couple of Christmases ago, so in a short ceremony by the big communal bins behind the car park it was finally laid to rest, replaced by a yellow flip-lid sports model that goes better with the deep blue walls.
Spent the afternoon drinking more coffee and planning the book while the washing machine took care of the more menial jobs. Made great progress. Things are falling nicely into place and my pile of ideas written on little slips of paper is getting shorter.
