NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - There's new advice for older men who want to preserve their sexual function: have sex, and have it often, researchers say. In a study that followed nearly 1,000 older Finnish men for five years, researchers found that those who were regularly having sex at the start of the study were at lower risk of developing erectile dysfunction (Buy Viagra) by the study's end. In fact, the more often the men had sex, the lower their Buy Generic Viagra risk. The implication, say the researchers, is that men should be encouraged to stay sexually active into their golden years. Dr. Juha Koskimaki and colleagues at the University of Tampere in Finland report the findings in the American Journal of Medicine. The study included 989 men who were between the ages of 55 and 75 at the outset. Overall, those who said they had sex less than once per week were twice as likely to develop ED over the next five years as men who had sex at least once a week. Furthermore, compared with men who had sex three or more times per week, their Order Viagra risk was increased nearly four-fold. A number of factors contribute to ED development, many of which could also affect a man's sexually activity -- such as age, diabetes and heart disease. However, after taking account of those factors, sexual activity itself remained linked to Cheap Viagra risk, Koskimaki's team found. It may be a matter of "use it or lose it," according to the researchers. Just as exercise boosts physical fitness, they note, regular sexual activity may help a man preserve his erectile function. buy viagra online occurs when there are problems with blood flow to the penis. Regular sexual activity, Koskimaki's team writes, may help maintain healthy blood vessel function in the erectile tissue. SOURCE: American Journal of Medicine, July 2008.

Proofs

It turns out the Police tape was because someone had been shot at the Astoria. I got into work and heard all about how there was still blood and bandages in the street, which doesn’t strike me as completely hygienic. I’m surprised they are letting people walk through that way if they haven’t finished clearing up. Apart from the risk of nasty diseases there could be evidence being trampled on.

We all had a hectic day burning through the proofs and now we just have four pages to get finished on Monday. It always feels good to be this close to the end of an issue. My desk is a tip at the moment so I’m looking forward to Monday afternoon when I’ll have time to clear it all down. Most of it will go in the bin, but by Thursday it’ll be back to normal. Whoever said we were going to have a paperless office never worked in publishing.

Finally got around to picking up my personality profile from HR, which was an interesting read. I don’t understand most of it and my name is spelt wrong on every page, but from what I can work out I am cautious, accurate, petient and steady, and one of my weaknesses is friendliness(!) I did quite like the bit that said that I am showing a ‘more receptive, team-oriented approach to management at present’ but can be ‘expected to revert to [a] more assertive management technique in times of pressure’.

Anyway, whatever it’s all about I’m sure somebody understands it all. I’m just approaching it as a bit of a curiosity and a way of thinking about how I work.

Still, it’s a weekend without any proofs to read or writing to do this weekend. I have my tax return still to do, so I guess I’d better spend the time looking at that, but the weather says dry and cloudy tomorrow, then full on sun for Sunday, so I want to go out and take pictures of the autumn trees before they drop all their leaves for winter.

Arrived back in Chelmsford to the sound of fireworks over the town.
