Ian popped up on my screen at eight or so tonight. I was still at my desk. ‘Cool pic of you in the Press Gazette today,’ he wrote. ‘Very GQ.’
I take it he meant I looked like one of the writers rather than one of the demi-clad women on the GQ cover. So anyway, I picked up a copy on the way home and was pleasantly surprised. It’s the same as the one in the front of the magazine, the first copy of which I edited from end to end arrived on my desk this afternoon.
From looking at it you’d never guess how unshaven I was the morning it was taken. Soft focus and an airbrush can do wonders for your appearance.
Only trouble is, I have to have some more taken tomorrow, and this time I’ve had plenty of advance warning, so there’s no excuse for turning up scruffy.
