I thought I ought to spend some time getting up to date with what our readers are saying about us, so spent an hour reading through the letters database. I thought I got a lot of spam (today’s selection included spam for the rather bizarre sockstuff.com - for the over 18s only) but it’s nothing like some of the stuff in there. I can’t believe people would register a magazine’s letters address with porn sites. I was very tempted to make one of them letter of the month.
I had been planning on going to the gym this evening, but the Central Line was shut down and the trains were delayed by ‘adverse rail consitions’ (read: drizzle and leaves) and then something broke down in front of us, so I went to Sainsbury’s instead and brought Christmas bagels, breaking my no rule about not doing anything for Christmas for the second time in a day.
I did about half of my Christmas shopping online at lunchtime. So much easier than faffing around in the shops, especially in London. I’ve got the week before Christmas off work, but I think leaving the rest of it until then might be a bit too late.
Car is poorly. Two lights aren’t working. Fortunately one at the front and one at the back rather than both at the front, so I still had enough light to limp out for food and back. I thought it was darker than normal around the back roads. Strange thing is, they are on opposite sides of the car, so it’s the front left headlight and the back right brake light. Hmmm…
