Woke up rather later than intended. Today was to be an early start so I could pack and I’d also be tired enough to sleep on the plane tonight. No so.

I lunched with mum and hugged the cat, then brought my long-haul kit out of storage (Nitol, moisturiser, Natracalm, eye patches, inflatable pillow, breath freshner, airline socks, ear plugs) and threw what looked like enough clothes to fill a week into a large bag I’d borrowed from Andrew.

I was a bit undecided about the insect repellant. It was in the pile for packing until I looked at a map and saw the Seoul is really no further south than southern Spain, so it was put to one side again until I found a smaller bottle, which I’m taking instead.

The end pockets of my bag are packed full of biscuits - my staple rations for the far east.

The kitchen and bathroom are bleached, the towels are washed, the bins are empty, which means I’m pretty much ready to go. Paul is taking me to the airport and should be here in about 15 minutes, which means in precisely 14 minutes I’ll remember something I’ve forgotten to do.
