NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - There's new advice for older men who want to preserve their sexual function: have sex, and have it often, researchers say. In a study that followed nearly 1,000 older Finnish men for five years, researchers found that those who were regularly having sex at the start of the study were at lower risk of developing erectile dysfunction (Buy Viagra) by the study's end. In fact, the more often the men had sex, the lower their Buy Generic Viagra risk. The implication, say the researchers, is that men should be encouraged to stay sexually active into their golden years. Dr. Juha Koskimaki and colleagues at the University of Tampere in Finland report the findings in the American Journal of Medicine. The study included 989 men who were between the ages of 55 and 75 at the outset. Overall, those who said they had sex less than once per week were twice as likely to develop ED over the next five years as men who had sex at least once a week. Furthermore, compared with men who had sex three or more times per week, their Order Viagra risk was increased nearly four-fold. A number of factors contribute to ED development, many of which could also affect a man's sexually activity -- such as age, diabetes and heart disease. However, after taking account of those factors, sexual activity itself remained linked to Cheap Viagra risk, Koskimaki's team found. It may be a matter of "use it or lose it," according to the researchers. Just as exercise boosts physical fitness, they note, regular sexual activity may help a man preserve his erectile function. buy viagra online occurs when there are problems with blood flow to the penis. Regular sexual activity, Koskimaki's team writes, may help maintain healthy blood vessel function in the erectile tissue. SOURCE: American Journal of Medicine, July 2008.

Sunshine after the rain

It’s been Postman Pat’s busy day today. I woke up to the sound of rain on the windowsill through the open window, and a stiff jaw that had probably been catching the cold breeze all night. What a strange sensation. Of course that first thing that sprang to mind was lockjaw, but I’ve not been hammering any rusty nails recently, so it’s unlikely. It’s subsided a bit now, but still feels rather tense. A toast and jam lunch with Paul (too late into the day for breakfast) then off to Asda for eggs and vine tomatoes - I have had an omelette craving all weekend.

I went home to find my answerphone playing stupid games again and withholding the dialling tone, which is probably why I didn’t get that LBC phone call on Wednesday evening. Now it just sits there flashing ‘init’ all day so I’ll have to take it back and get a replacement.

Tidied up while it flashed at me then sat down to finish off the screen shots for the book, which involved unplugging the cable modem and logging on to Freeserve for a couple of hours. I was amazed how fast it was. Twice the speed - at least - of the cable modem. If I wasn’t getting it for free I’d seriously consider getting rid of it.

The rain was almost tropical, there was so much of it, and it didn’t let up for hours. Eventually, though, it stopped. Very suddenly, and then the clouds cleared away in a matter of minutes. The sky was clear blue, and the sun caught on the crystal in my window, scattering delicate little rainbows around the lounge while it dried off the parking spaces outside.

Mum, Andrew and Paul came around for blueberry muffins mid-afternoon, and I dispatched Andrew around the flat with his screwdriver. The kitchen now has a smoke blanket, the study has a pinboard, clock and smoke alarm, and the window handle in the bathroom is no longer falling out of the frame.

They went at half six and I spent from then until twenty to midnight editing a PC group test, breaking for the omelettes with Paul mid-way. If I make it to the gym tomorrow morning it will be a miracle.
