Tea with the midnight weatherman

Hot again today, but the weather has broken. The sky has been covered in grey clouds, and now and then they have been spitting drops of rain. That hasn’t stopped the moron on the radio who clearly isn’t looking out of the window from talking about us all listening to him on our patios. He’s even in the same town so there’s really no excuse.
So, I breakfasted in the conservatory while the cat pootled around the garden, sniffing the damp flowers, then headed upstairs to do some radio work I’ve had on my list for far too long. When I got down to it, it didn’t actually take all that long, so it proved to be yet another example of procrastination being the only reason for not having it finished.
Had booked in for yoga at five, just so I could see how it compared with pilates so called in on Midnight Weatherman for a mug of tea on the way. A very relaxing afternoon talking about everything and nothing. He correctly predicted I’d ache during yoga, but was a bit off target when he said I’d ache afterwards, too. Perhaps I’ve got that to look forward to tomorrow morning, but actually I feel quite good.
As for how it compares with pilates… I think I prefer pilates. Yoga was OK, but I was more coordinated in the other class and feel I got more out of it. I’ll give it another go next week, but if I have to choose between the two it would be pilates.
Of course, it didn’t help that the music was broken, as was the mic, forcing the instructor to shout over the screaming air-con duct, and the fact you could feel every thud of the judo class next door reverberate through the floor.
The Through the Night feature was fun. Steve was off on a well-earned break, so it was Marcus Churchill standing in. Now, though, I’m typing this at home beside the little ISDN broadcasting box, fully aware that I still have to drive across town to the cat before I can get to bed, and all I want to do is sleep.
