I witnessed a birth today. A very beautiful thing. It was just as we were leaving work. Jason and Leo had already headed on over to the pub, the rest of the team had gone home, and there was just me and Mark in the office when it happened.

Mark is very proud. It’s the first time he has registered a domain, and he was exactly like I was when I registered nikzone.com. I’ve just looked it up - it was three years ago next month. Time really does fly by. I was reviews editor back then and didn’t really understand all about hosting and email forwarding. I thought once you’d got your domain that was it, and I got fleeced by an apparently reputable registration company. I moved away to someone else as soon as my year was up.

But there I was, an experienced father of many years, watching the birth of Mark’s first and it suddenly made me wonder why I’d not made more of the domains I’d bought between my first and where I stand today. Time I guess.

I hope Mark will spend more time bringing up showtunesandporn.co.uk. A cult site in the making. I can feel it.
