And relax. That’s another issue out of the way. It seems unbelievable that here we are, two days into September, and we are just about to start work on the December issue.

Of course, that’s a bit misleading. The December issue comes out in October, like it does with every computer mag, and as we’re all running to the same schedule we’re all starting work on what should logically be the last issue of the year.

And so we had an easy afternoon. K and I sat on the rug and played Top Trumps, like kids on wet break. I won. We walked to the tea shop to buy drinks. We nibbled on Hob Nobs and Cadbury’s Roses. We took a long lunch and went shopping.

My relieved and relaxed state of mind was shattered when I came home to find the cat had had an attack of diarrhoea all over the landing. Poor thing. No wonder she looked so sheepish. She was obviously feeling very unwell. She scooted out of the door and left it all in my hands.

Not literally, of course.
