I’m starting to wonder what I have got myself into, switching my mortgage provider. The surveyor came around this morning to look at the flat, wheezing as he reached the top of the stairs. He then stood there, looked out of the window and turned over a page on his clipboard, pen at the ready.

‘Now,’ he started. ‘What floor are we on? Ground?’

It was a good start. Just after he left, the post arrived, which included a letter from the critical illness cover people who want a list of all the places I have visited in the last five years. It’s going to be a very long list. Off the top of my head I can think of loads of cities and a whole range of countries where I’m not actually sure which city I was in.

Amsterdam, Berlin, Boston, Chicago, China, Czech Republic, Daegu, Estonia, Finland, Florence, France, Hong Kong, Macau, Milan, New York, Seattle, Seoul, Spain, Taiwan…

Trouble is, they also want to know how long I was in each one and where I expect to travel to in the future. Hmmm.
