I think it’s a worrying idea (although one that we always suspected) - newspapers and magazines touting for ’spontaneous’ reader comments. Doesn’t that defeat the object? How many of your reader’s letters do you make up then Nik?

Bizarre that the Standard should call out for letter-writers in this way. Is it that you’re on the letters editor’s blogroll, do you think, or are they touting bloggers like this on a regular basis?
