Wandering though Foyles book store at lunchtime, I came across this book. Totally genuine, entirely straight-faced, it appears to be a how-to manual for anyone who wants to stage an armed takeover of their country. Not the kind of thing you expect to find just around the corner from how to tone your thighs, and improve your French in five easy steps.
The sub-title is interesting. I wonder if when they say ‘from planning to execution’ they mean from the day you first come up with the idea to the day you are hung in a market square for treason.

We asked Mark Thatcher is he’d like to write an introduction… something along the lines of “If I’d had a copy of this book, it would all have turned out differently!” But inexplicably he turned us down. Must have lost his sense of humour along with his navigation skills.
