Well, the antisocial trains are getting very familiar at the moment. It’s 10.30ish. In the evening. I’ve been here since half eight this morning and, the way things are going it looks like I could be here another half hour.

When you get past a certain time, and there are a few of you still around (there are four of us still here at the moment, waiting for pages to go) everything goes strangely calm and ethereal. Kind of like it’s not worth worrying about what time you’re going to get home any more, so you may as well kick back and accept it.

I read, somewhere - I don’t know where - that that’s what it’s like in a plane crash. Everyone apparently just accepts their fate and a strange calmness descends on the rapidly descending fuselage.

How anyone actually knows that, I don’t know.

Anyhow, the rest of the lights in the building seem to be off. I’ve done a quick run up and down the stairs and this is certainly the brightest of the floors, so if things continue as they are I may bed down under a marketing desk.

In the meantime, I have a craving for chocolate or cheese, with only pears and bananas to hand. Sometimes being healthy is so very inconvenient indeed.
