I do enjoy working from home. You don’t have to travel, so the working day really does begin at 10am, giving you plenty of time for a nice unhurried trip to the gym, a swim, a sit in the bubbles and a bit of flopping around in the steam room.
So why the day out of the office? Well, we’re moving. Not a wholesale building move - just a shift of two floors in height, which will be my fourth move in three years. Yet despite the frequency of the desk switching, I still seem to have accumulated an inordinate amount of rubbish, which isn’t helped by people who send in products for review and then take a dog’s age to ask for them back.
It’s the same for everyone, so I’m guessing that about half of the big green crates we’ve been packing for the last three days have been filled with other peoples’ kit, which shouldn’t even be in the building in the first place.
And then there is the stuff you wonder about altogether: the bits and bobs that have no use in your average office yet, somehow, have found their way onto your desk. In support of my case, I present Exhibit A: The Penis Mug.

I’m hoping it somehow gets broken in a crate.
